Over 1,000 miles away in Yekaterinburg, a drone hit a Wildberries warehouse, alongside reported fires in Rostov.

Putin is trapped in his own war โ textbook trap.
Call up another 500,000? That publicly admits the whole thing is a disaster.Donโt call them up? The front collapses this winter, the military says.ย 30,000 losses a month and rising.
But mass mobilisation scares the Kremlin more than the body bags.It drains an already exhausted workforce, wakes the soldiersโ mothers (the only group that has ever made the Russian state actually sweat), and makes the war personal for every Russian family โ exactly what four years of state TV carefully hid behind โspecial military operationโ.
No version where he doesnโt have to admit what heโs refused to admit for four years.A winning army doesnโt get this choice between bad and worse.ย Meanwhile Lavrov keeps swinging that utopian Anchorage dream, hoping Trump will magically deliver โend the war in 24 hoursโ.
Ukraine and the Europeans: โNo deal without us, thanks.โ

๐จ๐ณ๐พ๐ช๐ธ๐ฆ China is now operating with a strategy built decades in advance. Following the Houthi blockade of the Bab el Mandeb, while the region faces growing disruption, China appears to be calmly maintaining access to its energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, while its commercial vessels continue transiting the Red Sea without facing significant interference.
Why?
China identified the world’s key strategic chokepoints years ago and began establishing military and logistical footholds near them long before today’s crises emerged.
At present, two Chinese commercial vessels are reportedly loading oil at Yanbu and continuing their journey through the Red Sea toward the Arabian Sea. The Houthis have issued warnings and imposed a blockade, yet Chinese shipping continues to move.
The reason is simple. China has a military presence in Djibouti, positioned near the Bab el Mandeb. Any serious attack on Chinese shipping could trigger a much stronger response.
This is the advantage of long term strategic planning. China is not reacting to the crisis today. It positioned itself for it years ago.

Ukraine is targeting Russiaโs economic arteries, not just the battlefield. This is the new phase of drone warfare: strategic attrition.

๐บ๐ฆ Ukraineโs drone revolution has started a war inside its own military.
The latest leadership crisis in Kyiv has exposed a much bigger debate than a cabinet reshuffle.
At its core is a fight between 2 visions of warfare: the Soviet-era model built around artillery, hierarchy and attrition, and a younger generation that believes drones, rapid innovation and lower troop losses will decide the future of war.
That divide is embodied by former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
At 35, he became the face of Ukraine’s drone revolution, redirecting funding toward domestic drone production, reforming military procurement and pushing technology over traditional firepower.
Supporters argue those reforms threatened entrenched interests inside the defense establishment, while critics of the old system say it has been too slow to adapt to a battlefield that has fundamentally changed.
The protests that followed his removal weren’t just about 1 politician.
They reflected a broader belief, especially among younger Ukrainians, that the country can’t fight a 21st century war with 20th century institutions.
Syrskyi’s removal and the promotion of the more drone-friendly Mykhailo Drapatyi show that change is happening, but only partially.
Fedorov remains outside the Defense Ministry, highlighting how institutions can embrace new ideas without giving up real power.
A bigger question is whether Ukraine becomes the first country to fully hand military leadership to a drone-native generation, or whether the old command structure simply absorbs the technology while preserving the same hierarchy.
The answer could shape not only Ukraine’s future, but how modern wars are fought for decades to come.
