Fast-moving Brooklyn apartment fire kills young mom and her two children

Tragedy struck a Brooklyn home on Friday morning when a mother and her two children were killed in a fast-moving fire, it was reported.

The Fire Department is now investigating what caused the deadly blaze, which broke out at about 5:05 a.m. on April 28 inside a third-floor apartment at 587 Gates Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

It didn’t take long for responding firefighters to quench the all-hands fire — the FDNY tweeted that it was brought under control 40 minutes later, at 5:45 a.m. — but during and after the blaze, first responders located the three victims: a 40-year-old woman and her two daughters, ages 8 and 10.
