Lara Prychenko: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

mikenova shared this story from Heavy.com.

Lara Prychenko, 48, was found dead on Tuesday afternoon in a trash compactor at a 29-story condominium tower in Manhattan, according to the NYPD. Her death is a mystery, and the story quickly gained attention because Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin owned an apartment there. Although the NYPD confirmed to Heavy that her name was Lara Prychenko, other sources including the Daily Mail have named her as Lara Prychodko. Here’s what we know so far about what happened.

1. The NYPD Confirmed with Heavy That Her Name Was Lara Prychenko, But Other Sources Have Said Reported Her Name as Lara Prychodko

A building employee found Lara Prychenko inside a trash compactor early on Tuesday night, ABC News reported. She was later identified by police as a resident of the Zeckendorf Towers. She was found unconscious and unresponsive, according to police, and pronounced dead at the scene. The building is at 1 Irving Place near Union Square.

Her identity is where things get a little confusing. The Daily Mail is reporting her name as Lara Prychodko and is providing detailed information about her background. When Heavy reached out to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information for the NYPD, they responded: “Pursuant to the investigation the deceased has been identified as: Deceased: Prychenko, Lara 48-year-old female.”

It’s unclear why there is confusion about her name. The Daily Mail also spoke to the NYPD and is reporting that Prychodko had been living in the building for six months and was in the process of divorcing her husband, David Christopher Schlachet. They had one son and were married in 2003.  Prychodko worked for WebMD Health. Heavy cannot confirm that Prychodko was the woman who passed away, since the NYPD released a different name to Heavy.

Residents only found out something was wrong when they received a strange email from building management telling them not to use the trash chute, CBS New York reported.

Nicki Leitner told CBS New York: ““It’s scary. In fact, when I texted my boyfriend about this he told me to get out of the building cause he was worried, as was I. But it was so hush-hush.”

2. She Was Seen on Surveillance Video Entering the Trash Compactor Room Alone & Appeared Drunk

Prychenko was seen on surveillance video entering the building’s trash compactor room alone, CBS New York reported. The surveillance video has not been released, but it showed her walking down the hallway like nothing was wrong, New York Daily News reported. The New York Post reported that Prychodko was last seen on surveillance footage on Tuesday at 4:20 p.m. walking and stumbling in waht appeared to be a stupor on the 27th floor.

3. Prychenko Fell Down the Chute from Either the 27th Floor or the 10th Floor

A co-worker of the employee who found Prychenko told New York Daily News that she had fallen down the chute and “slid down like garbage.” The employee said that she fell all the way from the 27th floor. The building is 29 stories tall. However, The Daily Mail reported that she fell down the chute from the 10th floor, but The New York Post also reported that she fell from the 27th floor. Her purse was founded by the building’s elevator.

4. Police Said They Don’t Know if Her Death Was an Accident, But Said They’re Not Looking for Suspects

Police said they were trying to determine if Prychenko’s death was intentional or accidental, ABC 7 reported. However, they said they are not looking for suspects. A spokesman for the NYPD told Daily Mail that her cause of death isn’t yet known and will be announced by the medical examiner. A maintenance said that her body appeared crushed from multiple angles, The New York Post reported.

The building’s doorman told New York Daily News that she was a happy and pleasant person. “She went up to her apartment and then she jumped into the chute,” was the doorman’s guess about what happened.

Prychenko’s body was found Tuesday around 4:55 p.m., officials said.

5. Anthony Weiner & Huma Abedin Owned an Apartment There That They Listed for Rent in 2017

The story quickly gained national attention when people connected the building to Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin. Weiner and Abedin have owned an apartment in the building for 16 years, Daily Mail reported. It was listed for rent for $11,900 a month on May 19, 2017, the day that Weiner pleaded guilty to sexting and he and Abedin filed for divorce. This listing was taken down a few days later, and it wasn’t clear if it was taken off the market or if a renter was found.

Zeckendorf is a luxury condo complex at Irving Place and E. 15th St. Studio apartments rent for about $3,000 a month, and the cheapest studio for sale is priced at about $995,000, ABC 11 reported. A two-bedroom, two-bath can cost about $3.25 million. This is a developing story.

A woman who was found dead Tuesday inside a trash compactor near an upscale New York City apartment building — where Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin and her estranged husband Anthony Weiner lived — fell down the chute while intoxicated, police said.

Lara Prychodko, 48, was spotted on surveillance video stumbling alone out of the elevator on the Zeckedorf Towers’ 27th floor, the New York Post reported. It was not immediately clear how she got into the trash chute but a maintenance man discovered her body “crushed from multiple angles in the compactor,” the New York Police Department said.

HILLARY CLINTON TOP AIDE HUMA ABEDIN’S FORMER POSH HOME IS SCENE OF GRISLY TRASH COMPACTOR DEATH

Prychodko and her husband David Christopher Schlachet split up after 13 years of marriage. She filed for divorce in 2014. The two have a son who is believed to be around 11 years old. She was a marketing manager for WebMD for about 10 years until leaving the company in 2013, according to her LinkedIn page. Schlachet did not immediately comment on his ex-wife’s death.

A source who lives in the apartment building told the New York Post they saw Schlatchet and his son on Tuesday before Prychodko was identified as the victim. The source said the two were “acting normally.” No foul play was suspected in her death.

Two people who live in the building where Prychodko and her husband used to reside told the New York Post it appeared Prychodko had a drinking problem.

“She would come home drunk. Like, she couldn’t walk. I don’t remember a specific time, but I remember many times [more than once a week]…this was about three years ago,” a source said.

Several residents at the Zeckerdorf Towers told the New York Post they did not know her very well. Prychodko moved into the building about two years ago after splitting from her husband.

“It’s just crazy. The building sent out an e-mail saying not to use the [trash] chute…What a terrible, terrible way to go,” a resident told the New York Post.

Germans want US troops gone: poll

mikenova shared this story from Comments on: Germans want US troops gone: poll.

Germans would welcome the withdrawal of US troops stationed in their country, according to a poll, as Donald Trump threatens to withdraw military support.

Trump is calling on Nato allies to spend more on defence if they want to continue to receive US military protection, while also criticising its energy dependency on Russia.

But a YouGov poll said more Germans would welcome the departure of the 35,000-strong US occupation than would oppose it.

Around 42 per cent of respondents said they supported withdrawal while just 37 per cent wanted the US to stay, with 21 per cent undecided.

In June it was reported that Washington was in the process of assessing the cost of keeping its forces in Germany ahead of a possible withdrawal.

But the policy of pulling out of the country has not reached the negotiating table at the Brussels summit and is not expected to be discussed.

A withdrawal enjoys significant support across the political spectrum in Germany but is particularly strong with certain fringe parties.

“The United States continues to devote more resources to the defence of Europe when the Continent’s economy, including Germany’s, are doing well and security challenges abound. This is no longer sustainable for us,” wrote Trump in a letter to German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Supporters of the left-wing Die Linke are particularly keen on withdrawal, with 67-per-cent support and 55 per cent of right-wing AfD support and 48 per cent of Greens back withdrawal.

NORD STREAM 2

Trump was highly critical of Germany’s energy policy.

“Germany is totally controlled by Russia, because they will be getting 60 to 70 per cent of their energy from Russia and a new pipeline,” he reportedly told Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, referring to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. “They got rid of their coal plants, they got rid of their nuclear, they’re getting so much of the oil and gas from Russia.”

Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom’s pipeline to Germany under the Baltic Sea has angered the US which last year started to export LNG to Europe.

Washington claims the Baltic building work could be used as a cover to lay listening devices under the sea to monitor Nato vessels.

Trump added: “We’re protecting all of these countries and then numerous of the countries [sic] go out and make a pipeline deal with Russia where they’re paying billions of dollars into the coffers of Russia. […] I think that’s very inappropriate.”

Trump criticised the involvement of former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder, who chairs the Russian oil company Rosneft.

President Trump departed the NATO summit Thursday amid further reports of contention and disagreement with NATO allies, reports the Washington PostDespite reports that the president threatened to “do his own thing” in January if NATO allies did not meet the two percent of GDP military-spending commitment, which they had previously agreed to do by 2025, President Trump left the summit telling reporters that “NATO is much stronger than it was two days ago.”Former FBI counterespionage chief Peter Stzrok appeared in front of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees for an extremely heated hearing on his role in the Russia investigation, reports the New York Times. Strzok was removed from the Russia investigation last year by Special Counsel Robert Mueller when politically charged text messages with another FBI employee, Lisa Page, were found on Strzok’s phone. Syrian government vehicles, accompanied by members of the Russian military, entered part of southern city of Daraa on Thursday to raise a Syrian national flag over the city, says Reuters. At this week’s NATO summit in Brussels, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told France 24’s Marc Perelman he was “certain” that US President Donald Trump would not negotiate on Crimea during his meeting Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.
To do so, Poroshenko warned, would be counter to international law, security accords between Ukraine and countries in the West as well as official NATO statements.
The Ukrainian leader blasted plans for a natural gas pipeline between Russia and Germany as a “political” and “dangerous” move for Europe.
He also called for the deployment of United Nations’ peacekeepers to eastern Ukraine in order to end what he called continuing “Russian aggression” there.
Finally, Poroshenko expressed optimism over the likelihood of a prisoner exchange with Russia, one that might see detained figures like the Crimean filmmaker Oleg Sentsov freed.
Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in jail by a Russian court on charges of plotting terrorism acts, which were widely described as fabricated.

1. Russia from mikenova (112 sites): Voice of America: Greece: Russians Expelled Over Cash-for-Protests Allegation

Greece has moved to expel two Russian diplomats accused of supplying funds to protest groups opposing a deal that would end Greece’s longstanding name dispute with neighboring Macedonia, a Greek official said Thursday. The expulsions were confirmed the day after NATO formally invited Macedonia to join the western military alliance pending the agreement’s successful completion. Moscow opposes any expansion of NATO, particularly if it involves nations Russia sees as within its natural sphere of influence.  Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras told Greek reporters in Brussels after a NATO summit ended Thursday that he was obliged “to defend the national sovereignty” of Greece, but did not refer to Russia or the expulsions directly.  “We seek good relations with most countries — not only the ones in our neighborhood,” Tsipras said. “But we do demand that all countries respect our international legitimacy and national sovereignty.”  Deadline Friday Russian authorities have been given until Friday to get the two diplomats out of Greece, the Greek official told The Associated Press. He asked not to be identified, citing the sensitivity of the issue.  The government was compelled to act after receiving evidence of “specific actions,” the official said. Greece also blocked other Russian officials from entering the country, he said.  It was not clear if the Russian diplomats have departed or are preparing to leave.  The United States welcomed the Greek action. In a message posted on Twitter, U.S. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said: “We support Greece defending its sovereignty. Russia must end its destabilizing behavior.” The deal to end the name dispute foresees Macedonia renamed as North Macedonia in exchange for Greece dropping objections to its northern neighbor joining NATO and the European Union.  Allegations called ‘nonsense’ A Russian diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly dismissed as “nonsense” allegations that Russian diplomats were involved in undermining Greek public support for the Macedonia deal. In Moscow, the Foreign Ministry took a careful stance.  Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that diplomatic expulsions typically bring a tit-for-tat response, but underlined the importance of Russia-Greece ties. The agreement between Greece and its small northern neighbor still faces several hurdles — including constitutional changes and a referendum in Macedonia — before it becomes final.  Protests held in both countries Protests against the agreement have been held in both countries, backed by the political opposition.  Igor Pshenichnikov, an expert at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, a government-funded think-tank, alleged the Greek authorities acted “under the pressure of their advisers from Brussels and Washington.”  In remarks carried by the Tass news agency, he described the move as Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ “gift for the NATO summit.” Russia has tried to prevent some countries from joining NATO, including historic Slavic ally Montenegro. The Balkan country became NATO’s 29th member a year ago. Voice of America1. Russia from mikenova (112 sites)

1. Russia from mikenova (112 sites): Voice of America: Stormy Daniels Arrested in Ohio Strip Club, Charges Dismissed

Stormy Daniels, the porn star who has said she had an affair with U.S. President Donald Trump, was arrested while performing at an Ohio strip on Thursday, but the charges were dismissed and her lawyer called the arrest a politically motivated setup. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was accused of touching three customers who were undercover vice detectives in the early-morning incident, police in the state capital Columbus said. Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, said the touching was non-sexual. Online court records showed that three misdemeanor charges of illegally operating a sexually oriented business related to knowingly touching a patron were dismissed. “I am pleased to report that the charges against my client @stormydaniels have been dismissed in their entirety,” Avenatti said on Twitter, thanking prosecutors for their “professionalism.” Under Ohio law, strip club patrons and nude or semi-nude employees are not allowed to touch each other. Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said his office determined that Daniels committed no crime because she did not perform regularly at the club, as required under the law, and confirmed that the charges were dismissed. Klein said his office was not involved in what he called a “sting operation.” Avenatti had earlier said on Twitter, “This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges.” Columbus police said the arrest of Daniels and two other women at Sirens Gentlemen’s Club was part of a long-term investigation into allegations of human trafficking, prostitution and other vice-related violations at adult entertainment clubs in the city. Daniels, 39, has filed two civil lawsuits against Trump, with whom she said she had a sexual encounter in 2006, a decade before he was elected president. One lawsuit seeks to get out of a non-disclosure agreement she signed the month before the 2016 election in exchange for $130,000 to keep the affair secret, while the other is for defamation. Trump has denied the affair. According to an arrest affidavit cited by the New York Times, Daniels was dancing topless at the club when she pressed patrons’ faces into her chest, fondled the breasts of some women in the audience and performed similar acts on three police officers who were at the establishment. Avenatti told MSNBC his client was released on $6,000 bail, and that he did not expect the case to affect her lawsuits against Trump. Daniels has said Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen paid her the $130,000. Cohen has confirmed he made the payment. Daniels is also suing Cohen. In May, Trump said Daniels was paid to stop “false and extortionist accusations.” Prosecutors are investigating Cohen for possible crimes related to his business dealings, a source familiar with the investigation told Reuters in April. He has not been charged. Daniels has been on tour since last winter, appearing at strip clubs across the United States, and was due to perform again at Sirens on Thursday night. Avenatti initially said that performance was canceled because of Daniels’ arrest, but after the charges were dropped he said the show was back on. “My client @StormyDaniels refuses to be intimidated,” Avenatti wrote on Twitter. “She will return to the scene of the ‘no crime’ tonight in Columbus, Ohio as scheduled. She never ceases to impress!” Voice of America1. Russia from mikenova (112 sites)
